About the menu

Yan Wo Dou Bun Chong (Causeway Bay) is a celebrated tofu restaurant located at 55 Jardine's Bazaar, Hong Kong. Known as a historic bean curd factory, the menu deeply honors traditional soy-based delights, with an emphasis on freshness and authenticity. Highlights include silky dou fu fah (tofu pudding), served hot or cold, distinguishing itself with a homemade, smooth texture rarely found elsewhere. The soy milk drinks, especially the black sesame and ginger varieties, offer a rich, comforting experience that diners rave about.

The panfried stuffed bean curd stands out as a nostalgic dish, combining crispy tofu with fish paste, though some find it slightly oily or mildly flavored. Complementing these are simple yet satisfying choices such as fried noodles. Meal sets for lunch and dinner enhance convenience without compromising quality.

Yan Wo excels in balancing tradition with variety, maintaining its "tofu factory" legacy through nuanced flavors and diverse preparations. It’s a must-visit for those craving authentic Hong Kong-style tofu dishes that evoke both history and homely warmth.

from a recent review —
This was a historical bean curd factory which also provided din in area. The new shop was very near the old shop. More choices were included in the menu. Lunch sets and dinner sets were offered. Bean was the main ingredient. Soy milk, tofu puddings of different mixes were tasty. Pan-fried stuffed bean curd was a bit oily, but the traditional taste still existed. Order could be specified as more crispy. They were prepared continuously, so they were ready to serve anytime. Boiled bean curd was another choice, with a less oily feeling and soft. The price was average, and cash was required for payment.
